The Home and School Club’s After School Enrichment Classes will take place on Fridays after school for 5 weeks. These classes are FREE for all students. Current offerings are available in the office.

H&SC Fall After School Enrichment Classes will start on Friday, October 6. We have a fun lineup of classes for students this year. These classes are FREE for all students. Registration forms are due back to the school by Friday, Sept. 29.

American Sign Language
This class will cover the ABC’s, numbers, basic conversation, colors, animals and family.
Clay Art
Students work with clay and natural materials to make sculptures. Each week the students learn a different clay technique. The sculptures are then glazed, fired in the kiln, and ready to take home the last class meeting.
Drawn to Art
It is amazing to see what young children can create! They will be so proud of their work and their newfound abilities and will astonish you with talent you did not know they had! The teacher will work with students on different projects, such as: holiday-themed projects, animals, still-life, cartooning & more. Students will learn to use different media, such as markers, colored pencils, pastels & more.

Lego Animals and Habitat
Using LEGO© bricks and specialty pieces, students will explore different types of animals and their habitats. Students will gain experience with creativity, problem-solving, fine-motor skills, abstraction, and learn how they can express their thoughts through physical objects. Each week, the students will build and study animals in mountains, deserts, rainforests, etc. and integrate LEGO figurines.
Lego Machines
Using LEGO® bricks and specialty pieces, students will learn about simple levers, pulleys, gears, wheels, axles, etc.
Lego Storytelling
Using LEGO© bricks and specialty pieces, students will explore the creation of ideas and stories through play. Students will gain experience with creativity, problem-solving, fine-motor skills, abstraction, and learn how they can express their thoughts through physical objects. Each week, the students will learn about a different type of story, then use LEGO figurines to create their own story.
Magic School
Learn introductory secrets to performing magic and simple sleight of hand from a professional magician. Props used include coins, string, scarves, playing cards, cups, and balls. In addition to having fun, students will strengthen their performing and presentation skills in front of an audience. On the last day of class, students will receive a magic wand and equipment for one trick to take home.
Martial Arts
Shindo is a traditional form of martial arts which focuses on flexibility and strength. Children will enjoy working out in a fun and respectful atmosphere, where they will practice self-control, discipline, camaraderie and self-esteem.

Skill Builders for Team Sports
Your child will learn new skills and have fun while being coached by a SCG parent who is an experienced coach and who enjoys working with young players. Players will have opportunities to learn basic skills related to team sports and classic P.E. activities such as basketball, soccer, and baseball through fun games and exercises.
Visual Arts
Students are taught a multi-media course in the visual arts. Projects will include 2D works of drawing, painting and collage.
Wilderness Skills
This class introduces students to practical, hands-on outdoor survival skills such as “Useful Knots”, “Plant & Animal Identification and Safety”, “What to Do if Lost”, etc.
Yoga
By learning how to use yoga to both relax and energize themselves, students gain a sense of empowerment in their bodies. Classes include guided visualizations and deep relaxation to promote mindfulness, a sense of calm and well-being. Mats will be provided.
